This chart gives you an idea of the maximum amount of weight you can confidently trailer with different GMC model lines when your vehicle is properly equipped. When determining the total weight of trailer and cargo, include the weight of any additional passengers and optional equipment. The trailering capacity of your specific vehicle may vary. The weight of passengers, cargo, and options or accessories may reduce the amount you can trailer.
2. The 36,000-lb rating requires a properly equipped 3500 HD Regular Cab long bed DFW 2WD model equipped with an available 6.6L Duramax Turbo Diesel V8 engine, Max Trailering Package, and gooseneck hitch.
3. The 18,510-lb rating requires a properly equipped 2500 HD Regular Cab long bed 2WD model equipped with available 6.6L Duramax Turbo Diesel V8 engine and fifth-wheel or gooseneck hitch.
4. The 11,800-lb rating requires a properly equipped Sierra SLT Crew Cab standard bed 4WD model with available 6.2L V8 engine and Max Trailering Package.
5. The 10,000-lb rating requires a properly equipped Savana Cargo Van model with available 6.6L gas V8 engine and Trailering Equipment Package.
6. Requires 2WD model with 5.3L V8 engine and available Max Trailering Package.
7. The 7,700-lb rating requires a properly equipped 2WD Canyon Elevation Crew Cab short bed model with available 2.8L Duramax Turbo Diesel engine and Trailering Package.
